Hi all,

Please can someone point me in the right direction?

I have downloaded POI's before without any problem, however, this time the I cannot find the POI's that are apparently in a folder on the TT.

If I start all over again by extracting the files and sending them to the TT device, a message comes up telling me that a folder already exists with that name, and do I wish to replace or rename it?

I counted 69 POI categories, so I deleted 3, hoping that it would free up space for the downloads........nothing.

I know that I am doing something wrong, but I don't know what it is.

Any help, please?

Jock.

Hi Jock

I know that it is a long winded way of doing it just but you will just have to select replace it.

However, if the computer can find the folder, you should be able to find it with a bit of perciverance. Can't you transfer them using windows exploreras the POIs are usually under the country they belong too.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the reply.

I shall have to wait for now as I am restoring the backup made, prior to deletion of 3 POi's.
The TT wouldn't even accept a UK post code, hence the restoring.

When it is restored, I shall try to locate the missing POI's.

Jock.

I'm not sure but backing your TT onto the TT home on your PC will then enable you to delete odds & ends from your TT . . I've just tried it and updated the TT Home to the latest version at the same time but be aware it makes the TT go a touch haywire & I had to stick a pin into the reset hole and switch off then back on again . . you tries it at your own risk but I've done it a few times with no lasting problems [so far] !

Hi Jock- I'm no techie but the TT Home certainly makes things a lot simpler so I agree with Vic. As foir Vic's point about re-setting. I find I have to do thgis virtually every time I connect TT to the PC.

Hi Vic and Telbell,

Thanks for the reply. I will give it a go, now that the restore was successful. We're back in business again. Smile

It may be the POI limit that has caused the problems, older ones have a 29 or 40 POI limit - see this website for a lot of useful tomtom info on this amd some free downloads (over 100 high quality POI for free)

“Link removed from this post by moderators due to possible contravention of the site policy on advertising. Please contact a moderator if you have any queries.”

and for the info try

“Link removed from this post by moderators due to possible contravention of the site policy on advertising. Please contact a moderator if you have any queries.”

I would also recommend checking out their Low Bridges solution as it saves a lot of time and bother here “Link removed from this post by moderators due to possible contravention of the site policy on advertising. Please contact a moderator if you have any queries.” (its for all ssat navs) - I dont go anywhere without it now.

Cheers Howee,

Thanks for the info. I will have a look at the limits of POI's.

Jock.

Hi all,

I still haven't figured out how to uninstall a POI category, eg cinema, or courts, so for now anyway, I have uninstalled all non UK speed cameras , in order to free up some space, but still it doesn't want to install any additional POI's.

It keeps telling me that a file by that name already exists, and do I want to replace it. I have tried all the different options
