OK-I've taken the plunge and ordered the van.
Next question is which is the best club to join, both generally and to access the various sites?

6 of 1 & half a dozen of the other in my opinion . . if you are over 55 the CCC offers site discounts but the CC has more sites [I think], we joined both to give a years fair trial of their sites & CL's . . coming up to renewal time & I've still not decided

Hi Paul and welcome,
we are in three clubs but am not going to renew the motor Caravan Club. The C&C Club have the benefit of the discount for over 55s which we enjoy and are also cheaper than the C Club. The advantage of the C Club is that they have more C.Ls. I am going to stay as members of these two so as to have a greater choice of sites.
Terry.
Basically a mini site for a max of 5 vans - sometimes in a field, orchard or large back garden. Some (an ever increasing number) have electric hook ups and a toilet. Some are just a basic field with just water and chemical disposal. Cost between £10 - £4 per night.
CL are part of the CC club
The C&CC has CS (Certificated Sites) These are significantly fewer in number than the CL's. For this reason a favour the CC club over the C&CC. Also the C&CC club magazine is pants.
I think you need to look at where you intend to stay - what part of the country.
We are members of both the CC and the CCC. We prefer to stay on ccs and cls because they are normally in more attractive countryside, are smaller than the big sites, are cheaper and the owners are normally very nice people. We have found that where we stay (East Anglia) there are more ccs than cls.
