Hi Oldenstar,

We have been with the CC for about sixteen years now and with the MCC for just a year.

As tuggers, the CC suited and catered for our needs, but as MH'ers, we are finding them "not so MH friendly".

Saying that, in order to always be able to find a safe haven, we will probably continue with them, and may even sign up with the C&CC.

With the yob culture we appear to have in the UK, wild camping is not an option for us, hence the need for a "safe haven".

Some of the CC CL's are pubs, whereupon you can have a drink and a meal, without the need to drive anywhere. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Many thanks to you all, especially the very experienced who will have seen this question many times, and still bothered.
I think that given the replies I will join both the C & CC and the CC for the first year at least.
As someone who started with a tent, then various trailer tents, then a couple of caravans, and finally a Fiat Amigo (about 25 years ago), the comments jogged my (failing) memory.
In those times gone by I always felt that the C & CC was a more friendly and down to earth club whilst the CC was a bit more upmarket (and in some cases downright snooty).
From your comments it appears that they have more or less maintained their respective levels over the years, with both having advantages.
Being marginally over 55 (I use very wide margins) I am anxious to get the C & CC discounts.
Thanks to all again Smile

Hi oldenstar,

You are absolutely right there, and things are still the same, unfortunately.

We find the MCC very friendly, and most of their meets are on hard standing.

We started by using both, and although like the CC sites for their location, got fed up with their money grubbing attitude - the final straw was having to pay for electricity - we don't generally use hook up unless we intend staying for at least 2 nights. C&CC have 'standard' pitches with no facilities. Neither club are 'clubs for their members' anymore, but are useful for - breakdown / insurance deals and getting a Camping Card every year.
[So Dave, can you get into the federation and issue CCIs? Razz ]

Cool

CC has more sites open all the year I think, or nearly all the year, C &CC has only 10 .
