Healpro - just a thought - if Brownhills are prepared to hold both MHs for a week then I think you may have the upper hand without realising it
I remember some years ago we got a new entry level MH from them (list price about £25000) with fitted awning, carpets, changes to the kitchen area and £2000 trade in (for a Renault hitop MOT failure!) for £20000, so they will negotiate particularly if you have cash and can be firm enough to walk away if the deal is not to your liking. However, if it is go for it and thoroughly enjoy the MHing life.
All the best if whatever you decide

Thanks again for all of your replies; as a result of the points raised here, I have phoned the dealership this afternoon and informed them of the fact that it appears I can save myself a good deal of money on the accessories I want fitted - £150 on the awning alone and that I think that the prices quoted will need to be negotiated. I am also hoping to re-negotiate the price although I think that 3K off is already pretty good for the Hymer.
Could anyone tell me how much a 12V 80 amp hour gel leisure battery should cost? Can't find these on the internet - Brownhills want £313
Thanks
Healpro
Healpro I wish I had checked the prices for the accessories beforehand and maybe got another company to fit them for me, did not realise the high cost of labour nowadays. I used to work in the motor trade for many years and there was not a lot that I could not do, but health now dictates otherwise and I hate paying through the nose for simple jobs that I could do in no time at all before.
My costs: awning £402, Sat dish £297 and TV aerial £204, they wanted a bit more than I could afford for a solar panel so that is a no no for the time being, an extra 80 ah gel battery is about £200, or to fit two 110 ah sealed lead acid batteries at £160 for 220 ah, that should give me more power than two 80 gels equalling 160 ah. I could get two SLA's myself and have them fitted but then I would need to sell on the installed gel battery.
Peter, there seems to be a pattern emerging here doesn't there! Brownhills are unreasonably expensive for extras! Following my phone call to the dealers - I have got order numbers and accurate descriptions for the awning and bike rack and will go armed with these on saturday. I just hope they are not reading these entries! I am confident that they will come down in price as I was assured that labour charges were not included in these quoted prices - the salesman I am dealing with is new to the job and I think that he may have shot himself in the foot a little telling me this. Will keep the forum posted as to my progress but I fully expect to close the deal on Saturdayand be the proud owner before Xmas. The van is a 644U Hymer classic on a 3850 kg base and 2.8 engine.

I recently purchased a new motorhome from Brownhills and they wanted the best part of a £1000 to supply and fit a 4.5m Fiamma Zip Awning, I have a friend who works for Fiamma and was able to get the awning for £350 . Brownhills then charged me £180 to fit it, a bit steep i know but if i had of fitted it and it had leaked .. ...it would have been down to me.....you could always supply your own parts and get a cost of them for fitting only
Healpro, I am picking my 644U up on the 6th of January next year so that I take the advantage of it being first registered in 2007, it should be a small help when I come to sell it in years to come, unless you need yours now I would recommend that you have yours first registered next year too.
