- .........that would be ours then!! Can't believe we have done it. I keep going to the front door to check it is real! I have so many questions and honestly feel a bit overwhelmed with it all, haven't used it yet and feel excited and a little sick with apprehension at the thought of doing so - is this normal to feel this way?? Have been researching and considering this for so long now; I think I will have to stop reading this forum re all the things that can go wrong and focus on all the positive posts! You can tell I'm excited as I am rambling!
We will be using the van for the first time the weekend after next, taking her down to the New Forest and staying at Setthorns (hopefully), if any old hands fancy coming to babysit us you would be gratefully and enthusiastically welcomed!!!
I am thinking that I will need some insulating screen thingies to stop condensation - do I need these and if so should I buy internal or external ones (I hear that the internal ones fall off their suckers and I suppose that external ones could get stolen?)

Bye for now

Tina

Hi Tina,

Congratulations on finally getting your new home on wheels. We have had our latest "wendy house" since June and I still go out and sit in her and can't wait to get out and about again.
We got external screen they hook over the doors so not easy to remove unless you open the doors.
After all the waiting and planning you will have a great time no matter where you go.
For internal condensation I just use a micro cloth, with 4 dogs it is also great for getting nose marks off the windows too.

Happy travels

Tina
Very Happy

Hi Tina,

A big welcome from us. You will find answers to most of your questions here. We are relative newbies although we do extend our helping hand.

Since being members we have had many of our questions answered both Motorhaome based and off topic. Who would have thought that cloning would be so easy in a motorhome gas cupboard Laughing

You will have guessed that as with all forums we have our share of 'mad' folk, we look forward to seeing which you are.

Welcome

Hi Tina

The best advice is to get a set of Taylormade external silver screen as Saruman advises. Best for price and effectiveness, the inner screens are nowhere near as good - we got both so we know.

Why not pop down to the Shepton show next weekend, if you give Taylormade a ring they'll no doubt be able to take a set down for you to collect (might even have some on his stand anyway). You'll also find it an excellent place to buy all the other "essentials" for the new van and save a bit of cash as well. You can also introduce yourself to those of us who are on the show rally, come round for a cuppa and some free advice. Laughing Contact details are on the flyer download in the Shepton thread.

Tina,
Santa was two weeks late in your area then, but it was obviously worth the wait, congratulations, just wish that we had one ourselves. Very, very close to putting an order in, hopefully SOON.

When you go to Setthorns go to the lower section its easier and more roomier to get in and out of. If you have canine security its easier for walkies too.

Hi, Gaspode, thank you for your offer, wish we could make it to Shepton but that is the w/end my daughter goes back to Uni. We hope to join a rally at another show down south, perhaps newbury?? so that we can meet everyone and have an awning fitted?? and buy lots of stuff Very Happy
I have just booked Setthorns for 1 night on Jan 20th, will be our first night away although I am determined to drive her down to one of the gravelled N. Forest car parks, park up, go for a walk then brew a cuppa this w/end (even though Doug doesn't really see the point!) Got to get out in it before we go on hols to S.Africa on 23rd Jan for 8 nights otherwise I will be brooding about it on our delayed honeymoon/20th wedding anniversary special holiday!
