anyone fitted a fiamma pro hymer bike rack to a hymer?? Forums

Hi, my Hymer is brand new 2006 with 2 grey blobs above the back window. When my husband lifted these there is a flat plate undrneath with 4 screws in the corners. Can anyone tell me if the fiamma pro hymerbike rack comes with the parts to attach directly to these or do we need some other device to fit the bike rack - want to do it ourselves as Brownhills wanted to charge £520 for a £348 bike rack!!!!!

Movera are owned by Hymer - it is their accessory division.

They sell loads of interesting accessories, but the hard copy catalogue is only available in German - its 3/4 " thick!.

Whenever i have ordered Movera accessories from Brownhills - the prices have always been very reasonable - when compared to "extras" shown in the Hymer m/home price list.

I always quote them the part number from the website and ask the cost - you can easily tell if they are trying to rip you off by referring to the web price and converting Euro to Pound.

I notice you have a brand new hymer - make sure you know exactly how to drain ALL the water when its not in use in case of frost - i had to replace a tap last year because i failed to drain everything thoroughly.

Did you ever get anywhere with the Hymer bike rack? I've got the same problem and have been advised to purchase a Fiamma Pro Hymer but it has hooks and the van has pre-fitted flat plates.

Hi Chris

Managed to locate the parts through Hymer UK. Apparently Hymer used to complete the top fitting up until a couple of years ago but now leave off the last part which is a metal plate with a pin across which the bike rack hangs on - quite why is anybody's guess. The parts only cost about £6.00. My mistake was that I was contacting the accessories dept when I should have been talking to the service dept. Nobody in accessories had a clue as to what I was talking about but the chap in the service dept knew exactly what I wanted before I'd finished the sentence.
