For reasons now lost over the mists of time, we nearly always have duck a l'orange (out of a packet mind you) with ready meal-type veg and a raspberry jelly on our first night. After that, we usually have lunch in a pub then buy whatever provisions take our fancy along the way.

We normally have a Bacon Butty with HP sauce and a mug of tea. In the evening we have a big juicy sirloin steak that I get fresh from the farm - no chemicals used in the feed these animals are given. Every morning we have a fried breakfast - Free range eggs from the farm, bacon, mushrooms, sausages from M&S and fried bread. Bliss

We usually pop into Morrisons on the way out and get a pre cooked chicken, a tub of florida salad and a pre done packet of salad, why cook on the first night, hey, you're supposed to be relaxing Rolling Eyes .

Judy has all the healthy bits like the breast with no skin, I devour all the wings, skin, legs and generally all the tasty bits that are bad for you, loverly jubbly.

Sometimes we can be really lazy and eat it off paper plates then there's no washing up.

All washed down with a drop of chilled white.

By the time we've got home from work, done what has to be done and then set off to our chosen destination which could be anything up to a 3 hrs drive, especially in the Summer months,..I'd rather not start having to prep and cook a meal on arrival.

I normally cook a meal the night before e.g. Lasagne or a Cottage pie, and reheat it in the oven on site, savouring a glass of Merlot while waiting! Very Happy Laughing
