After 2 days of frantic worry about my PCs packing up after trying to use a new flashdrive I have found the cause was the Onspeed upgrade which automatically came up for download last week. I have been so impressed with Onspeed I accepted the download without much thought.

The explorer locks up and you cannot view or run files or even run the control panel. This morning I realised that the only PC that I can still use is the one without Onspeed. Onspeed support were pretty helpful (thanks to my non-onspeed PC) and sent me a WIN98 download. I had to install a file splitter to allow me to transfer the download on 2 floppies and move across to the poorly laptop. To fix I had to run Windows in safe mode and deinstall Onspeed from the control panel. Then copy the bits from the floppy, reconstruct the exe and then at last run it from safe mode - after all that my Laptop is back to normal.

Now I will need to sort out what damage I've done to the flashdrive Exclamation Exclamation
