Might I firstly apologise for asking a daft question, but they are sometimes the hardest to answer.

How do you get a euro sign? I have dollars and pounds as keys (shift 3 or 4) Using an elderly WINDOWS equipped keyboard under W98 SE and also a "modern "laptop with 'XP.

Hi Olley

Excellent tip

and if anyone wants those accents over any letters the AltGr key will bring them up too... just press the AltGr key and then the normal letter key ..like this:-

é ú í ó á

É Ú Í Ó Á

Très facile, trés bon... Laughing

Mike

I think you have just saved me about 40€ as I was going to buy an Italian keyboard for use with my home work etc!

e é a á - problem is the accent is pointing the wrong way!

They are acute accents - I need the grave version. Uffa!

There's probably an easier way but heres how I did it.....

If you have word or works, go into it and open up a document.

Now click on 'insert' at the top, then select 'special character' you need.

A box with all the characters available will then appear, select the letter you need and the code to obtain this letter (alt + number) will appear. Make a note as you will need to type this in future to get this letter.

ciao tutti

pete
