Seems that Auto Trail may have changed their policy then? I opened up this thread again because of an interest in what has been the experience of those who have had punctures but have not had a spare wheel. In particular, how have the breakdown services treated you. Have you had to pay for the service because you could not supply a working spare wheel?

I purchased from new the 2011 Autotrail Excel 670B which comes with a jack but no spare wheel. I had heard that this was because of weight issues and the wheel was removed to reduce weight.
However when i looked underneath my motorhome i could see that there was nowhere to stow the spare wheel as the space taken up by the wheel carrier was occupied by other equipment. I think it's the Webasto duel top heater or water tanks that occupy this space. ( I will get under again and establish exactly what is occupying this space).
I purchased a spare wheel and tyre which I have installed under the rear bed, which has good storage space. I also found that man handling the spare wheel was not as difficult as I thought it would be and I am confident if I could easily change a wheel. I've seen some pictures of punctures and the tyres were shredded, the fix and go system supplied instead of the spare wheel is worse than useless. Having a spare wheel gives me peace of mind knowing if I get a puncture I have the option of changing a wheel myself.
With respect to weight! I weighed my motorhome when full recently to get axle weights to ensure my tyre pressures were correct and was surprised at the amount of spare capacity left on both axles even with the spare wheel under the bed which leads me to believe the spare wheel had originally been removed to allow other equipment to take up that space. In my view it had nothing to do with weight.
Incidentally, the Excel 670B is a two people motorhome. Although it has a sleeping capacity for four it only has two seat belts and my wife and I find it meets all of our needs and expectations.
No one has said any thing about the life span of the glue cans, if like the car ones they do have a shelf life, so beware yours could be out of date and not work any way
Since the OP, by now there should be quite a few members out there without spare wheels. Has anyone had a puncture and not been able to effect a temporary repair with the provided kit. If so what was the outcome?

I take it no one has had a problem then?
