Hi

I am desperate for some quality sausages, Warburtons bread and Lurpak!

I saw on TV the other day that TESCO had opened a store in China and had a "British section" selling ketchup, mint jelly and so on.

I thought it was too far to go, but the local LIDL does have Heinz beans now and again. When I say local, 30 miles away.

Good link though Peejay!

Russell

Hi

Well here goes a saga. Mum and dad took my post and also some Colmans sauces and gravy mix to the post office last Tuesday. They sent it via "International Signed For" costing almost £9.00. Is it here? Is it heck!

Meanwhile, on the same day, SIBLU Holidays posted a letter ordinary airmail, I got it on Thursday!

I have a friend coming over in February with supplies and am looking for another in March.

April I will be at the meet in France (hint hint - swap Italian wine for sausages LOL LOL)

When I return to the UK in July I will stock up before coming home (Garda) at the end of August.

The things that cannot be had are....

Gravy mix
Mint Jelly
Colmans type sauces (Shepherd pie mix etc)
Decent bacon and sausages

Amazinglym Heinz beans, walkers crisps and a few international brands can be found with a hard search. Fresh milk is about £1.30 per litre, but the local "open all hours type place" sells Fresh Austrian milk at about 40p per litre - that is ok, but I hate UHT! YUK

Pasta and tomatoes are OK, but it is a suntan I want, not a red tinted skin! LOL

Russell, you should be able to buy mint plants in Italy, we buy italian herbs all the time for our wholesale plant business. Buy a couple and plant them in a small tub ( hide it from oscar though when he needs a p) and make your own real mint sauce, beats the preserved stuff hands down. Just had a thought though you will then need proper malt vinegar Very Happy

Hi

Not sure where there is a Carrefour, but the local Auchan at Bussolengo stocks none of those items!

I am going to the Auchan at Mazzano tomorrow - although I want to avoid British brands in a way....if that does not sounds silly!
