I know that feeling! Did it last year - good luck! Had no problems in the event and came home with a great van - and the knowledge that we'd saved loads of money Very Happy

Hi

I have only purchased vans in the UK, and on both occasions paid Ģ1000 as a deposit.

Can I suggest you contact your credit card company and ask them, if you pay a desposit on the van, are you covered should anything go wrong.

Payment protection certainly applies to UK purchases, I am not sure about foreign transactions.

Russell

Hi Sagedog

We've just done the buying in Germany thing but bought privately so didn't do a deposit!

Had good fun though - definitely needed our German friend for the exchange of plates etc for export, mind you! If you are buying at a dealer i suppose all that will be done for you but we went along to see the system working first hand at the local licensing office and their "partner in crime" the number plate man across the road.

The office was only open 8 until 11.30 and he did the same hours but had a very large and expensive m/h! My 157 Euro probably helped him along the way to his next one.

Brian

Thanks for the words of wisdom russell god to know you're still with us over there I guess Oscar is keeping you out of trouble - Sage is very jealous but has an idea that he is going to get his passport for next year.

I just popped home to collect my bag, on the way back to work I thought I should really get the euros from home also so turned round, it was when I opened the cupboard that they are kept I that I saw my pssport, paper part of my driving licence and travel insurance - All things that I really should have with me before i go to the airport in two hours!!!
