I am a Newbie as such. One year into one of the most pleasant hobbies that you can have. I never cease to be amazed how friendly motorhomers are. Reading through the forums. People discussing waving to each other (yes, I do that and enjoy the response). It did not happen quite as much when I had a panel van conversion. Certainly is different in a coachbuilt.
Anyway, I digressed. Back to being friendly. The main reason I feel like writing is reading were one of the more frequent posters had offered to wire up a cross-over lead for someone else. Nearly all of the forums are someone willing to share advice, help or even time to someone else. What other hobby has such people. Long may we all keep running. I will carry on waving as I head north or south on the M5/M6 corridor.

Hi JohnHow, first welcome to our friendly little fold. You're right it never fails to amaze me either how friendly motorhoming people are. We're right glad you decided to join us, please enjoy your stay in our company and keep posting and telling us of your adventures. Wait 'till you start chatting with PM's and exchanging telephone nos. I am about to pick up a new van really soon and already one of our happy band (Jabber) has offered to keep his eye on the PDI for me (I can't I'm in Guernsey) now that kind of friendship is special, especially when you think that friendship has come about through posting here. Hi all

Yet another newbie, Rolley is the name. We joined the happy clan of motor homers about 8 months ago so reasonably new but definatley new to the club. We think that you guys are a great bunch of people and are very glad we have joined, our only sad thought is that we are unable to do it full time but looking forward to the future and yes I agree with your comments regarding waving, other drivers may think that it is sad but long may we go on doing it, it certainley adds something to an already enjoyable hobby. Hope to post again soon but it has taken me ages to get my head around this one.

Thanks for the welcome reply mates. I got my hasband at it the other day I do most of the driver of our little old wagon and although he is as enthusiastic as me, I sometime have to remind him to wave, to which he over compensates nearly throwing himself across the dash. I got him recently, on reminding him, the enevitable happend the problem was that it was a Wednesday evening and we were just returning from shopping in the car. Still only one brocken egg.

PS. Somebody please tell me how to add the smilies

We too are newbie.I love to see someone waving. We were in Brittany this year May/June and most are happy campers and will wave or even flash the lights. When you go into a Campsite or Aires these Motorhomer dont even say Good morning. Sometime when you are away for a few weeks you just want a chat with someone who can exchange a few tips or tell you where the next site is. Please if you see someone on there own, ask if you can help.
We met some lovely people four years ago in France and now met them every year just for a night to exchange our adventure. Slan. Nora[/b]

Welcome to the site, smilies are easy, just type your message then left click with your mouse,on one of the Emoticons, presuming your using a mouse with standard controls and where your flashing cursor is in the message you will get a message, like for instance , colon wink colon and this magically turns into.........roll of drums please........ Wink

Hi Rolley, and if you haven't got a two button mouse . . . after you have typed your message, if you look just to the left of the message pane (when replying) you will see all the smileys just click on the one you want, the computer will do the rest. For more smileys click on "view more Emotions" HTH, Jeffus. Cool
