Blimey, this ain't arf a popular forum ,I lookedback to find my post on handbrake extenders and give up in the end, alright I know i could have searched.Anyway,I said I would have a look at moving the handbrake lever up a bit,I undid the bolts and pivoted it up and redrilled and tapped the holes and that was it.Great stuff, saved myself about Ģ45 Smile ,no reaching down now.

Can you supply a photo? It makes it easier to see what you have done for anyone interested.

Hi Don,

Do you have swivel seats? If so does this adaptation allow the seat to still swivel? Thanks

My only objection too the Handbrake Extender was I had to release the h/brake to swivel the seat, not convenient when up on ramps I would dearly like to see an adaptation that would work without having to do that.

Any pictures please Don.

I'll take some pictures tomorrow,I found that the lever misses the swivel seats and is still in a good position to reach without bending .

Hold on Don! I've been wondering if that's possible. I made my own extender which works fine. But only today I asked my friendly mechanic if it was possible to move the handbrake to the side of the seat. Is it possible to change the cable? Questions, questions...

Some pics really would be interesting.

Best wishes from UncleNorm.

These are the pics I removed the 3 bolts holding the handbrake to the seat box ,then drilled and tapped one hole after repositioning ,screwed the lever on with the one hole and pivoted it to the required position then drilled /tapped the other,I have put lock nuts on the inside to be safe. There is no need to tap the holes ,just drill clearance for 8mm and use the bolts and locknuts.

Don't get me wrong but isn't there a reason why the manufacturer puts 4 bolts in it? Safety and secure fixing perhaps.
Have you notified your insurance as any modification to a vehicle could nullify your insurance if you come to claim.

First of all there were 3 bolts originally, secondly you would have hell of a job to shear the two bolts off, thirdly I intend putting a 3mm plate behind it to be able to use 3 bolts.
I feel that it is more important to be comfortable and safer when driving,I am quite happy with it and it's up to others what they do.
