Hi All

Just a quick note to all you skiers and beginers out there

We have just come back from sking in Les Gets because we are new to all this we did not take any insurance out at the ticket office I think it cost an extra 3 euros .

Anyway my wife fell and had to be strechard of the mountain at a cost of 600 euros ( I don,,t think i can claim this back ) so from now we will buy the insurance

Hope you all stay safe

P S if she needed to be lifed of the mountain it would have been 2600 euros my wife is getting better slowly but it will take some months for her leg to heal

Mark;
Your normal travel insurance doesn't usually include winter sports, I had to top mine up this year, i'm with the caravan club red pennant, cost me about £36 for 2.

Dandan;
very sorry to hear about that, a lesson to us all to double check the insurance, get well soon mrs dandan!

sorry to hear of your troubles dandan....hope the missus gets better soon. our daughter broke her wrist on our ski holiday last year....ironically she did it sledging. we use direct travel insurance and for annual insurance with full winter sports cover it costs us £69.00 for 2 adults and 3 kids. i can't recommend them enough, they were fantastic and my premiums went down a couple of quid this year even though we had claimed. it also allows us to ski for 17 days at a time as many times a year we want. alot of insurances only have a minimal ski cover. they are worth checking out and getting a quote from.
