Hello everyone,

Reading the posts on here and the ever increasing number that are either talking about or asking questions regarding skiiing. I thought I would ask..

When are you going?
Where are you going?

Etc.

I have only skied in Scotland & Norway. Very much beginners and just going to set off Thursday the 4th April and head towards the French Alps for 10 days.

Or Should I?

Should I book a site?
Will there be room at the Aires?
Where is best for beginners?
Should I up the Insurance?

Do not have our own Ski gear, only just started and not sure what to do. Please Help

Trev and the Gang

Hi we're going out 29 march back on Easter Sunday.

Dunno where we'll check out the snow.

Sites at easter...yes I'd say book.

Aires, well it's an unknown quantity, they will be full, but you'll normally find somewhere to park up, however it's peak time and quite honestly I wouldn't have found it relaxing the first time I went skiing in a motorhome to do it that way. a site with hook-up is the best way to test it all out, you will be grateful for a drying room, easy filling and emptying, etc. Also, are you sure that you have enough battery power without a hook-up? There are so many things to deal with, and we have gradually learnt more each time. Having said that we had 2 kids in tow when we first went, if there's just two of you it's not quite so stressful. Also at Easter the temperatures should be less extreme, so if you wanna chance it good luck. Search on here all skiing posts and get prepared. Ask too, we'll try and help.

Ruth

Sorry forgot other Q's.

Best for beginners, many places, check out the ski and snowboard guide for suggestions. The trouble is that some of the best for beginners may not equal the best for easter skiing. For example alpe d'Huez..ideal for beginners also for motorhomes...but south facing and maybe too sunny especially this bad season.

Insurance...yes!!!! We have an annual natwest policy so I can't say about one-trip ones, but do get good cover.

Hello Mark,

We are on the 23:00 from Dover so I will keep an eye out for your 665 and the others ! Where is Le Grand Bornard?

Jeff,

Thanks for the tips, I know what you mean I can now Ski its the others who can't. I believe Bourg might be a good place for us where are you staying? I assume by Val you mean Val'disere and Tignes?!

Ruth,

29th My Birthday! Thanks for the advice again. I might have to look for some sites then. Still unsure but told that Bourg St. Maurice might be a good place?

Trev
