What a top banana idea to add info about RV friendly sites. One of the things that I am really worried about is turning up at a site and making a right a**e of my self by either getting stuck in the entrance or having to reverse down a small farmers lane.

We have stayed on many sites which have plenty of room but the access is just not pratical for large motorhomes. We are upgrading from a dome tent to an RV and whilst I could recommend some beautiful sites from camping experience I could not trust my memory to recommend RV friendlies!

I would also like to add my thanks for the hard work put in by all concerned for the much improved campsite database, well done and a big THANK YOU Laughing Laughing
I would also like to add my support for DuaDua's idea of endorsing RV friendly sites. I think it will benefit a lot of motorhomers because many european manufacturers are now building ever bigger vans and it will only be an difference between weight and sewer dumping facilies with some of those owners, so they will clearly benefit form the endorsements scheme.....
Thanks again to all concerned

Keith

Hi Keith there are two issues here I have been encouraging RVers to add a review to existing sites or enter sites themselves but what DuaDua is advocating requires changes within the database structure and from what Nuke was saying I don't think that is going to happen see this thread

Unless we all post our names here in support of RVers Endorsements and Nuke reads this and is persuaded to change his mind?

Come on you RVers.

Don't be put off.

If you don't ask nicely ...........

I notice for a camp site in Germany, Rhineland-Palatinate, Bacharach (ID:629)

the following at the foot of the page:

Do you wish to add a Review of Bacharach
Do you wish to Upload A Photo of Bacharach
View the Bacharach Photo Gallery

and if there is a review, that it is shown on the front page thus:

Bacharach :: Rating:[Reviews:1]

and if you hit [Reviews:1] on the first page you are taken straight away to Reviews

This is fantastic. If you could then introduce search criteria to include camp sites with [Reviews:1] it would be better still.

NOW

WAIT FOR IT

If we could have please at the foot of the second page the following options for anyone to edit:

Do you wish to add a Review of Bacharach
Do you wish to Upload A Photo of Bacharach
View the Bacharach Photo Gallery
Do you wish to add an RVers Endorsement of Bacharach

and if there was an RVers Endorsement on the second page, then the top line of the camp site entry could confirm

Bacharach :: Rating:[Reviews:1][RVers Endorsement:1]

and if you hit [RVers Endorsement1] on the first page you are taken straight away to RVers Endorsement

and if that could be searchable?

WE WOULD ALL BE OVER THE MOON

As before I am not a web designer and must bow down to those that are, but surely the mechanism is there for anyone to offer an RVers Endorsement, to a camp site entry, with automatic recognition of the RVers name.

I had been led to believe that it was not possible, but from the above I now believe it is possible, just by tweaking what is already there.

Surely, this should be possible?

Until the facility is made available the huge depth of knowledge shown on this site will either never be entered or if it is available it runs the risk of being lost in a Minestrone of info as we pick up more scratches than a dog with fleas.

Yours again,

Duadua

Come on you RVers ...... if you don't ask nicely!

Have to agree with Duadua on this one. Very Happy Come on guys I thought this forum was run by the m/hs for the m/hs (which includes RV owners!!). Wink Its such a little thing but would really help not only RV owners but also owners of the big Euro m/hs as well.

Keep at em Duadua Wink

ok i give in, i have made the following changes over the last 2 days !!!!

Search page has a new option at the bottom to search for sites that have been endorsed by RVERs

The Add page has a checkbox now for Endorsed by an RVER

The Search Results page has the number of Endorsements at the top (Like the Reviews are) and a link at the bottom to endorse it

The Endorse link takes you to another page which asks you for the Date of Visit to the site and then adds an endorsement

lol, so go ahead and endorse all the sites you wish now Wink
