Just making it clear having been thanked in pms and on other threads that it wasn't me. Also as DuaDua has already pm'd for some 'fine tuning' that is also out of my hands.

Hi all

We are nearly there. Are we?

But I have noticed this morning, as others have also already noticed, that there is scope for anyone to RVer Endorse a site without any written comments or qualifications, contrary to my earlier examples, each of which had a written qualification.

Clearly this is not what I was suggesting or what had been suggested or expected by others.

I have PM'd Nuke about this last night and again this morning in the hope that this fine tuning can be sorted before too long.

So I think some patience is called for and a little further support for Nuke perhaps?

Isn't it brilliant that we can search for RVer Endorsement camp site entries with a click of a button without all those phone calls.

You bet.

BUT we do need the written qualifications to give with the endorsement I suggest otherwise it's only half baked at best.

So nearly there.

Duadua

Latest

I understand a text field will be available shortly to qualify the RVers Endorsement.

It would be pretty pointless without this as some of you have noticed already.

I suggest therefore that RVers hold back from editing further RVers Endorsements until this text field is available, otherwise the system is liable to misuse and possibly misleading information for others.

I think we may then ask for the current 11 sites which appear when you search for Camp sites with an RVers Endorsement to be scrubbed and then we can start again as intended.

Nearly there!

Duadua

Hi duaDua

A while ago ( 26th march 00.45) you posted in this thread:

Duadua has posted a new reply to "More changes to Campsite database" in the "Announcements" forum at Motorhome Facts
Posted text:
could someone please erase the rvers endorsement from the following camp site

camping les rosiers chamonix (dept 74) (ID:352)

as the endorser has not visited this camp site and may have pressed the button by mistake whilst investigating the new facility

thank you

Presumably you then deleted it as you had found that you had made a mistake... it would have been better to add an edit or at least leave an apology for timewasting.

I do not mind tidying up the datbase when there is a problem but I have just wasted 15 minutes or more trying to work out what you are asking for... when I get to the record you are referring to I find that there is only one Endorsement and the endorser is you....When I return here the post has been deleted... did you want me to remove your endorsement? May I suggest that you slow down a bit, chill out and maybe that will help in not wasting my time Wink

i was trying to be helpful and factual

it obvious that the endorsement was mine

no cover up intended

and unsure how to edit the endorsement otherwise I would have happily saved you the bother which it so obviously caused

and no it was only deleted in one thread as I thought it might be the wrong thread, and so I then went on to post it in what I hoped to be the correct thread

yours well chilled

and not infallible

and in lower case only and no bold text Laughing

you will find the post on the other tread no doubt

Hi Duadua

thanks for the reply ....

Yes it was obvious that the endorsement was yours ...that was what was confusing ...even more confusing to find your post gone when I came back...so then I had to check that you had actually posted it in the first place and that I was not mistaken. I am not infallable either.

It is best if you make a mistake in a post to edit rather that delete. Or leave some note that explains your actions... remember once you post in a thread that message will be transfered to anyone watching the thread by email.... not just the moderator... this can lead to all sorts of embarrasment... by the way you cannot delete a post if someone else has posted after you.
