Welcome to the group

Many of us are ex "tuggers" there are pros and cons for both forms of caravanning.
What our experience shows is that generally speaking motorhomers tend to be more of a community.

I dont think any of us here will tell you that you have done the wrong thing.

You will probably find after 12 months you have used the van more than the previous caravan, reason, you enjoy it more.

Pull up on site, Handbrake on, Brew on, simple aint it
We all hope you will enjoy your new van
Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Hi and another welcome to these boards.

As Dodger has said, many of us are ex tuggers and we are also of the many. At one time we owned both a caravan and a motorhome at the same time until we found that given the choice we were not using the caravan so sold it.

Just to add to "Pull up on site, Handbrake on, Brew on, simple aint it......... and all while your neighbour with the caravan is levelling up and putting down the steadies in the pouring rain.

never ever tugged anything, love the 'van, and you just can't beat cabaret time and the entertainment value from caravanners - parking, lining up, erecting awning, getting water, and heaven only knows what else while we sit and scoff bread, pate n wine !!
eggsellent Wink you'll love it, and just think of the day trips you can enjoy now

Cool

Thank you all so much i am sure the next 2 weeks will tell, I must admit owning a caravan we enjoyed, but felt very isolated no one seemed to want to get to know us i.m sure we didn,t have our two heads on at the time, although having 3 teenagers is as bad. Thankyou dodger for mentioning the word community i,m all ready looking forward to joining it. Smile

It is a huge decision isn't it? but hands down the motorhome is so much easier.
I suspect we will stay fitter too, we did far more walking instead of having the car to unhitch. Also , being new to the whole situation, we probably opted for the first or easiest campsite. Public transport was great, but we often opted to walk more.
Hope your holiday goes well.

Hi Motorhomedemon

We also moved from our caravan which we loved and had great fun but our autoroller 70 is the best, present company excepted of course. No you have definitely done the right thing, we even pop out on nice evenings you couldn't do that with the caravan and what better than sitting on Beachy Head (Thats the notorious jumping spot on the south east coast ) whatching the sun go down eating your supper. sunny

Happy travels

Rolley
