Success, working great with TMobile payg sim.

Speed check .. 178kbps download with 75kbps upload

Thank you Neil .. I am well pleased..

Jim

Neil and Jim,

Can I just clarify? Is this a standard T-Mobile PAYG sim?
I had thought that you could only get 3g speeds from a contract 3g sim but
if this is a standard sim I'll be getting an unlocked Vodafone Quad card pronto. It has to be the way to go.

Thanks,
Tony

Thanks Neil & Jim,

OK, on that basis it's an unlocked Vodafone Quad modem for me.
Unfortunately, the guy that sells them on eBay only puts one on at a time and as someone has put a bid in, the "Buy It Now" option has dropped off the current auction. Will have to keep a close eye out for the next one.

Cheers,
Tony

- OK, the postage makes it £46, but hey, think of what you're saving once you've got it. Laughing

Thanks Keith,

I had been emailing that guy to tell me if he was putting up any more BIN options but he didn't reply. In the meantime, thanks to Jim, I found one at £26 so should be up and running after Easter.

This internet setup would save us 50 UK pounds a month but we do need a new laptop.

Has anyone any knowledge of a decent budget/special easter offer ?

Both PC World and Staples have a couple of good deals going at the moment - Seen in Staples today, Fujitsu Siemens £399.00 - sure as hell beats the price I bought mine at three years ago Crying or Very sad

But make sure it has a PCMCIA port - see the earlier posts for an explanation!
