I haven't looked at mine yet. What is the thing/trick you have to do (the generic what, rather than the specific how for your particular laptop/phone combination)?

All I have done with any of the phones I have linked (about a dozen) is to syncronise the laptop and the particular phone and then look for an internet button.
All the phones I have set up have had a software dish to do this with. I noticed on the three site last night they have a link to software updates for phones or of course if you search the particular website for the phone you should find the software if the dish is missing.
With different phones I have used serial cables, usb cable and currently bluetooth.
It is only T mobile ones I have linked, not cracked Three yet.
Stew - when you get Three sorted - let me know - might need it in the UK.

I have been connecting my laptop to the internet via a phone for the last 5 or 6 years when needed...
However painfully slow it is (9.6 kbps at best usually worse - a phone line is 56kbps and a broadband is at least 512..) it is useful. GPRS is 56k but charged in a different way.
Please can you tell me what tarrif allows data calls to be so cheap - I have never found anyone that gives such good rates.

Aha I read your site - now I understand.... Shame you are in that 5% minority along with the 5% of Linux users - cant you do the same for the Windows operating system ???
However - one geek to another - respect - thats some smart stuff...
