Does anyone have the code to input into the Sky remote control to allow control of the Avtec TV from the sky handset ? I dont know if anyone else bothers doing this but it means you dont need to have two remotes lying around.

Thanks in advance, Dave.

Hi Dave

There don't seem to be any codes listed for Avtec but that doesn't mean there aren't any. The TV is almost certainly just badged as Avtec but manufactured by one of the major manufacturers, if you can find out the manufacturer of the chassis then you can try their codes. You'll almost certainly need one of the latest Sky remote versions too, can't remember the version but it's silver in colour. This remote has the ability to control most of the more recent LCD screen TVs where the old remotes cannot.

I was informed they were manufactured by Casio.

Just spoke to Avtex who are based in Wales. There is no "official" code that will allow the Sky handset to operate the Avtex LCD TV. Apparently this has to thought of at a manufacturing stage according to the bloke I spoke to. However I really only need to be able to control the volume so I'll keep looking Very Happy

First person to crack the code will get a great big "thank you" Dave.

No codes for Avtex but it has codes for Casio so it may be worth trying it

CASIO
Model No.......Codes .......................................Notes
ALL ............. 0065 0584 0191 0377
ALL ............. 1932 .......................................V6 or Higher RCU Required

Mike

P.S You can buy Learning remotes which would do the job of combining the Sky and the Avtex in one control.

There is no responsibility on the part of the TV manufacturer to identify or supply Sky codes. In fact, if anything they will do everything possible to prevent access to the codes as they may help to identify the manufacturer, which is likely to disappoint the owner. Contrary to popular belief it is not a case that the smaller brands are made by the major manufacturers and then rebranded. The fact is that very few major manufacturers now make their TVs, more and more are made in smaller factories and badged for the manufacturer.
Have a look around and see how many top Korean and Japanese brands are now manufactured in China, Turkey and Eastern Europe.
