Can anyone give me some beginner-friendly advice on how to locate and empty the waste water tank on my Autohomes Camelot camper van?
the owners manual just states that the empty valve can be located 'forward of the rear step'! Not much help for a rookie!!
The van is a Peugeot Talbot Express 1989.

Hi Pioden, welcome to the site. I'm sure someone here will soon point you in the right direction.
Unfortunately I have no knowledge of your camper but it sounds like a hands and knees job to me - or ask the person you bought it from?

Welcome to the site, pioden. Sorry I can't help you either (bit of a negative post, really! Apart from the "Welcome"!!)

I'd just echo what crissy said - a hands-and-knees job. The waste tank will most probably be a bloody-great big, black, square object under the vehicle, possibly supported by a panel of plywood. A short hose will protrude and dangle, probably clipped in place to the inside of the vehicle 'skirt'. The hose will have some kind of a tap on the end. Unless modified, it'll probably look like a beer-keg tap.

To empty, ideally position your vehicle over an open manhole before opening the tap. Or push onto the tap another, longer length of hose that you then lead to the manhole. Your learning curve continues by trying to make this temporary connection waterproof! There are many different ways to do this, often using those push-on garden hose connectors - probably as many different ways as there are motorhomers!

I think this van is continued under various Explorer Group Labels,
If so it is as Barry says a beer keg type tap under the skirt.
I converted one of these for a mate with a straight thro valve made by CAK which we clamped via a Terry Clip and it is much easier than the original to use and quicker to empty
