Hi thanks for the responses, I have sorted it now.

Staying near Benicasim, Spain at the moment, found a guy in the area named Mark Scotford got a company called

He connected a 1.37 m dish on a stand, strapped it down and set it up for us and included a sat finder for €325.

Just finished watching eastenders and wondered why we bothered Laughing ! No actually have lots of channels and it has worked all day and still working now.

I think I have solved the problem. I have been studying the sat maps and to get everything all you need is a 350cm dish. This should be a tad under 12 feet. The other advantage to this is if travelling along the motorway and the wind is behind you, you don't need to use your engine. Cool

Like most things in life there isn't a "one size fits all" system..

People touring in a smaller motorhome will enjoy the ease and simplicity of a fully automatic dish like the Cosmos, others like myself, prefer a roof mounted manual dish while long termers in the South of Spain are probably better off with a large dish which while giving excellent results is a pain to pack away when moving.

It's basically horses for courses.. before buying any system think about how and where you intend to use it..

A simple domestic 60 or 80cm dish with a free view box costs under £100.. they usually come with a couple of mounting brackets which can be used on the rear ladder, tripod or even a nearby pole .. it will give excellent results even in Southern Spain and it's a lot of fun setting it up.. a great introduction to Sat. TV at a price that doesn't break the bank.

Wise words indeed. I was going to get a Camos but I think I will now go with the flow and get a crank up. I have done without TV for years on holiday and if I go to Spain then I shall have to slum it and use the radion MW. Despite the apparent ease that Snelly and Arty seem to be able to tune these things in; for the mentally challenged brain I have, I am worried that I will spend the whole holiday setting it up. I don't have much patience either which is another one of my attributes. Equally, not to watch TV in the rain seems a bit of a bummber becauee if it is raining I will be more likely to watch it than when it is warm and dry.

The main reason I am going with the Camos is that it works on the move.
I have Sky+/HD and record programs for later viewing. I really don't want to organise my travels around when these programs are on or have to watch them when they are on.

currently I have 20 hours of TV stored on my HD box. These will be watched at my convenience sans adverts. If I go for one of the normal type dishes I would have to chose between missing the programs or parking up and setting up the dish each time I want to record a program.

As I don't go to Spain or Italy the Camos looks Ideal on paper Smile

Looks good but no use to Karl as you have to be stationary to use it.
Cheers Sid
