A quick query. Is it easy to find campsites in Holland? I understand wild camping is a NO NO so will need sites just wondered if it was as easy as in France where most small towns seem to have a site. Can anyone suggest a guidebook??

There are plenty of camp sites everywhere in Holland. (Full up with tourists!) Therefore forcing the Dutch to take to the roads of Europe. There are also CL type camp sites I think they are called back to nature. In most small towns there is a map of the surrounding area and most camp sites are marked on this. We have never had any trouble finding sites. Wild Camping is a Big NO NO.

Wild camping is indeed (still) striclty forbidden. However this strict law expires end of this year, and it is not yet sure what happens afterwards.
Camp sites of all sorts and sizes are numerous, and with the exception of the coast line at peak season you will probably not have any problems finding a pitch without pre-booking. If one site really is full, then the next one is not far. And usually the warden will help you and phone his "neighbours" to check. Sites are locally signposted.
A good alternative to the all-whistles-and-bells sites are so-called "Mini-Camping" or farm camping sites. They are also locally signposted, either with the normal camp site symbol and the word "Mini Camping", or with a symbol of a Dutch barn with a caravan. No club membership is required to access camp sites, however there may be some discounts for club members.
Another alternative, which however does require a membership, are nature camps called

, in many tourist offices ("VVV") and in the "Bever Zwerfsport" outdoor stores.
There are also more and more "Stellplatz"-like sites. These are listed under campercontact.nl, which Pete has already posted.
