If you are reffering to V5 it is available now, sounds silly but I am unable to determine whether it is free or 79 Euro's to users. I don't use TT myself so have only gone as far as starting the download, it appears free, but I read somewhere it was 79 Euro's. Suggest you try the download site and see you should be able to back out if you do not want pay, and if its free, well there you go!!
Download is available from http://www.tomtom.com/index.php?Language=1
and click on SUPPORT select Downloads, you will find TTGo upgrade to V5.

Hi, Nice to see the site back up and running, a lot quicker than before as well.
Back to the subject matter, I believe TomTom are about to launch 3 new models, the 300, the 500 and the 700. I think the first is due out this month, the next in June and the top of the range in July or August. Full details should be on their website but I haven't had a chance to look recently so my information may be a bit out of date.
Phil.

Phil
The 3 Go's you mentioned are in fact all already listed for sale on several sites, though out of stock on two, with one saying order the 700 now for delivery end of May start of June. Looking at them they seem to be the same hardware but the mapping is different. Presumably the difference in cost is due to the media that is holding the mapping i.e.300 is UK street level only, 500 is UK street level and Europe main roads only, and 700 is street level for the whole of Europe.
I think I stay with my preference of Navman series with Smart ST V3 because you get street level for the whole of Europe for half the cost of the TT GO 700. i.e. Navman PiN are available for £299 or less against £599 for TTGo 700.

Hi,

Tomtom v5 is only available at present for TomTom Go.

The PDA software version 5 is due for release later this month or early June. Some dealer websites are however taking advance orders for the v5 software with hardware orders.

How much are they charging for the upgrade ? I will be wanting to know is it worth it. I don't need anymore functionality but it would be nice if TeleAtlas had made a good job of updating the GB mapping, like is the M6 toll now included?

Hi Riggy,
The new version TomTom Go is available now, if you can find a supplier who has some in, I bought the Go 300, £369.88 from Currys web site, free delivery, have tried it out twice so far and in my humble opinion its a good piece of equipment, Wife and I only travel the UK so no need for EU maps, you pays your money, the choice is yours.
