Don't you have to have one of the phones that are set up to work with this - ie a Web 'n Walk phone as T mobile call them?

Hi

Yes, I have one and yes it works. In reality, it is less than £1 per day because they seem to add a "free 20%" when topping up etc

It was a bit fiddly to get connected, but as you can see.....and if I can do it, anyone can!

I am assuming that if it works in Italy for you, then it should work throughout Europe. Would you say this is correct. Cairmgorm

Hi

It would work overseas but at a very high cost.

I am back in the UK at present.

Most of last week, whilst away from home, I was online, on my laptop, using the data card and a free, standard PAYG, T Mobile sim card for Internet browsing, on their "Web + Walk" basis @ £1.00 max a day. I removed the sim card, and placed in my mobile phone each day to check usage/credit.

AFAIK, it only works in the UK, although "NeilandSue" are trying to find other possible sim cards, whilst on their extended tour of Europe.

I hope this helps,

Jock.

Just to add to this, a standard T-Mobile payg sim will run at 3g speeds (384 kbps) and even broadband (up to 1.8 Mb) with the right equipment, software and a good signal.

T-Mobile and Vodafone are both moving towards USB modems now so there are some good bargains to be had on eBay on PCMCIA cards. Why Vodafone?
Their cards are identical to T-Mobile (look for the Option 3G quad or Option Fusion cards) and are generally considerably cheaper. Make sure it is unlocked before you buy though.

Software to run the cards is available from T-Mobile or Option as a free download.
