Don't worry to much. I think everyone worries if they have done the right thing I certainly did and we bought a new van. I am sure the if's and but's will soon be distant memories once you get back to the UK and have been away a few times.
Best of luck and enjoy your travels. And Don't forget to wave!
First thing is don't believe the bank when they tell you it will take 2 days to transfer funds, they always say this but the funds are usually in place within 24 hours.
Secondly, you don't need the CofC to register in the UK as motorhomes are exempt (along with ambulances???). The DVLA always just ignore the sections on the import form referring to CofC.
Well done for taking the plunge and enjoy your stay in Munich.

Good luck and am sure you will enjoy your choice of van.
Did I miss when looking who the dealer was you have used, am certain no one will use gluck thats for sure, but it would be good if we could have a full tale about their lack of service, just to be fair.
Hi and thanks everyone for the kind words. We cannot wait to take delicery of the van.
Interesting points Gaspode about the paperwork. I also rang the DVLA and asked about the CoC and they told me we would need it or have to do an SVA test, I think she may have not picked up on the motorhome part though. Can't say I have ever thought about importing an Ambulance though.
Cabby, fair point, and our experience is unique to us I guess, but when we first arrived we had a good look around at all the vans. Then we approached the english speaking salesman who made us feel as welcome as a fart in a space suit!
He simply told us to go and look at the vans again and only bother him when we had chosen one. He did however get the keys for the vans which we were interested in though that were locked.
Every time we found a van we were interested in, we had to walk up a flight of stairs in the baking heat to ask him any questions we had. Each time we knocked on his office door, he carried on typing at his computer and left us waiting standing at his desk for at least a minute before even acknowledging us.
Then when he finally agreed to have a look at a van we were interested in as he had given us the incorrect details and needed to clarify a code on the van, his mobile rang and we were left standing for over 10 mins next to him as he rabbited away from the top of the stairs.
When we found a van we were really interested in, he never really bothered to try and tell us about it, I just asked the best price and he told me a figure after punching intelligently at his calculator for a minute or two.
It was the final comment that there would be no attempt to service a van we bought as it was too busy. I then told him that we were looking at another van in another dealership and would rather buy from them.
Anyway, maybe we were just unlucky and got a crappy salesman called Andy. However there was little attempt by anyone to come over to see if we were ok as we looked around. We really could have done with a lot of help but we were made to feel like a nuisance for asking.
On one rare ocassion a strange person did come over to us and it turned out he was a salesman but it took us 5 mins before that was made clear.... Very strange situation. Anyway, when he found out we spoke to Andy the day before he told us he could not deal with us as Andy was first, we were actually glad of this as he started showing us vans we told him we had no interest in.
Oh by the way, it seems only fair to mention the dealership who helped us in the end. It was The Caravan Center in Markt Indersdorf.
The salesman was a new guy called Robert Wessner, sweats a lot but is a nice guy He went out of his way to make sure we were happy. I know it may all be fake but when I am shelling out £26,000 I want to be made feel like someone is making an effort for me.
