Luckily we have Internet banking too - noticed two Trainline transactions for over Ģ200 a few weeks back within hours of them being made - the bank should have been able to trace where these train tickets were sent, but I guess didn't bother. We were refunded a week after filling in a long form from Barclays.

As far as I am aware, when buying from the Internet, if the" http:// " is not in the address of the website it is not a secure site.

Before ordering anything online it is worth checking that the firm list, on their website, an address and phone number, if at all doubtful ring beforehand to check number is genuine.

I have come across some recently that only have an email and/or mobile number, I would not deal with these at all. Also, as mentioned, check for secure link for payscreen

That is correct it should read https:// for a secure server...

We also have the Text option from First Direct... Really good and costs Ģ2.50 per month.... Well worth it.

Seems there may be some confusion here.

You should be aware that any information provided to a web page starting "http:/" can be read easily by network computer people across the world. You should only provide private personal and credit card details etc. on an encrypted web page whose address starts with "https:/". Even that can be read by the CIA - but not many others Exclamation

Also remember that the above only protects your information between you and the site and it does not have anything to do with the actual security of the web site - (can you recall a certain country who recently had web sites which broadcast personal information to the world Exclamation )

hi

That should be https:// The"S" is the secure part. There should also be a padlock at the botton right hand side of the page
