I often wonder why people buy stickers and things from companies that are in essence advertising the said company i.e. Coca cola T shirts etc. If a company want me to advetrtise their business, they need to give me the item for nothing. An example is LadyJ keeps asking if I want to buy a MHF pennant. My answer is alway this - if you give me a pennant I will fly it, however I am not paying to advertise MHF. I then asked if I got some pennants printed with www.poshwebdesign.co.uk on, would you buy one? The answer is no all the time. I rest my case

I'm with you on this, Dave. I never buy clothes with visible labels advertising where I shop nor would I wear a T-shirt advertising a product except for my Foden t-shirt - the Foden badge is very discreet. A fashion designer customer of mine said that the more up market the product, and customer, the less likely it was to have a visible label but the more likely people were to tell you who designed/made the product!
We are tribal by nature so I suppose wearing clothes, or owning some other branded product, helps us have a feeling of belonging eg sports fan who buy the shirts.
The worst culprits are Hymer who have put a massive advertisement across the bonnet of my van as part of the the radiator cover. I've removed all the other Hymer symbols but cannot be bothered getting a non-Hymer cover made to replace that on the bonnet. I wonder if I can still be in the Hymer club without the Hymer badges?

Somewhere I've got a T shirt that says Advertising This Space For Hire on it.

The back of my van has a lot of URL's advertised on it. However, I built the web sites and the owners pay a handsome price to have them shown Europe wide. Afterall, if you follow my van hen you can't fail to to see them wherever we are in the world
