Hi Andrew

Well that's the million dollar question!!!

There are several reasons why we changed. Firstly my other half hated driving the RV, he found it to big and cumbersome. Drivng it didn't particularly bother me however now that I've driven the Hobby I must say there is a huge difference. I never had great confidence in our RV's braking system although I have since heard of modifications that you can make.

The main reason we bought an RV initially was for the interior space and the holding tanks. Having spent the last 3 summers in Europe we find that we don't really need that huge interior as we spend most of our time outside under the awning. The Hobby holds 120 litres of fresh water which I think is pretty good. However the black tank is small and as we were wild camping this weekend that was a draw back!!!

We found that the RV restricted us if we wanted to go off the beaten track. We got ourselves in to a couple of tight spots over the years.

I think its a case of different stroke for different folks. If I was full timing I wouldn't consider anything but an RV but for the moment I think the Hobby will suit our needs better.

We're just back from our weekend and I must say the Hobby was extremely comfortable and lived up to all our expectations. We are thrilled with it, it's beautifully finished and I know we are going to spend a lot of happy times in it.

However I'll reserve final judgement (on what suits our family) until after our summer trip!!!
