To be honest we used to take my dad away with us (I care for him he's frail and suffers from Alzheimer's) but in the last few years it's no break if we take him.

The cost of getting people in to care for him is astronomical too!

Leaving my dad alone with outside people worries me to death (I really hate doing it) plus he phone at least 3 times a day wherever we are in the world.

But it's my choice but can be hard.

to be honest tinkering around with the RV in the drive makes life less stressful.

It will come right for you though and you will get to love your MH Wink

Until I got the van I never really understood my mothers favourite phrase " stop bickering" but I do now. We refuse to take a TV to watch in the van while stationery but we let the children watch the portable DVD players , (one each as they are 7 and 15). This has helped enormously on the longer journeys and as above it means we can get further without the usual war going on in the back.

It is a shame that they miss some of the views that so impress us in the front by having the curtain closed for half the time as the sun spoils their view of the screen. But I can remember my dad refusing to go for drives on a Sunday as he said all we did was sit in the back reading those "comi cut things" and we weren't in the least bit interested in the views.

Just got back from a week in a sunny Holland had a lovely time on 2 ASCI sites just made for children and not that far to travel from the Tunnel either.

Hi all
Clipster. i think its already been said but its the batery thats us. They dont last forever. Get a new one and you will be OK.
As far as overcrowding goes i would consider getting an external awning and everyone can bugger off in there. You should consider staying on sites which are near a major town. The CC has plenty. York for instance is 10 mins walk from the town, warwick racourse even less.

you are going though a bit of a rough time at the moment we can tell. But a clever man once said.
"when you are at the very pits of despair, when you feel nothing is going right and the whole world is against you. When you feel that you can go no further, do no more. It is then when you must hang in just a little longer as it is then when things are about to change for the better"
