Ours is 22 years old and we're just about to go around Europe in her.
We have an even older van -a Commer Highwayman that we use for local trips and she is 33 years old. She's also just about as perfect inside and out as the day she was made.
My elderly lady, Martha, was built in June 1971 and still has the original Devon Moonraker interior. She is tax exempt and registered as an Historic Vehicle and drives on Black and silver plates.
Her interior layout has been included in Dave Eccles recent book, "VW Camper - The Inside Story" and VW Camper & Commercial Magazine.
Dave, The VW in my humble opinion is the iconic campervan of all time, I cannot think of one modern van that will be remembered or have a such a following as the old VW.
