We have a couple of Tempur pillows in the house and they are great but at £65 each they are a bit pricey to put a pair in the motorhome as well.

Dunelm Mill have memory foam pillows on special offer at the moment, they are nearly as good as the tempur ones, a proper 'pillow size' and lighter, with nearly the same support and comfort as the tempurs but at a more realistic price. They are ideal for the van and are on special offer at the moment at £18 each....

Thats a lot cheaper than the Tempur pillow! Wouldn't you just take the one's at home with you when wandering in your wagon? I was considering buying a couple of the Tempur pillows but wasn't sure about the odd shape, is one pillow sufficient. I like 2 feather pillows but my wife is allergic to them so have got to change.

You could do that of course but we like to have the van prepped and ready to go on the drive, including pillows Wink

For us one pillow each is more than enough.

The last thing in the van when we leave is our tempur pillows. Use them at home and away. I'd take them to Spain by plane if they would go in the case. Smile Smile

Be interesting to know how Tempur V Standard memo foam pillow compares.

Uh Oh Rolling Eyes ;

Sorry folks, duff gen, they are comfy but ours seem to be emitting a horrible plasticky/oily smell which doesn't go away even after airing them for a day. Taking them back for a refund tommorrow.
I do hope no one else has bought any on my recommendation Embarassed

Bought a memory foam mattress 2 years ago for the van.
It also smelled, and I wonder what substances might be emitted by the foam.

It did dissipate after a couple of outings though and now just smells like the rest of the bedding.
(like an old labrador) hope the wife doesn't read this..

I think the smell will eventually go, but it would be good if the manufacturers told us what the smell was or even provide a COSHH assessment?

Was that one of the expensive ones otto or the budget priced ones? I know our Tempur pillows have never smelled and i'm beginning to think Wobby is right, you probably 'pays yer money & takes yer choice'.
It probably would as you say eventually go, although after airing them in the garden all day yesterday they still ponged so i'm not sure how long it would take or if I'd want to put up with it. Also in a small space like the motorhome it's alot more noticeable.
Nope, they're going back.
