Although I can add pix in other forums, I cannot in this one. So to keep moaning but any help would be appreciated. I did out of interest use the img and \img (with square brackets as in other forums)

You need to place your photo on a web page, typically in the space provided by your ISP. Usually your ISP gives explicit guidance and software to do this.
Then simply insert the web page address between the [img] tags.
A refinement is to think about the size of the photo. The poster may have broadband and think nothing of a large photo, but those on dial-up will knash their teeth.
It's not user-friendly, I know.

Dab-Nukes Thank for that. If you take e.g. my link in the Gas attack topic and I stick in img and /img in [ ] 's of course, when I submit button, that's exactly what I get. e.g. [img]http://www.hms-juno.co.uk/shell.jpg[/img] - and where's HelenB gone and did Wurz get his new m\home.

Its not so much the physical size, as I am sure you know Dave but the quality of the JPEG. There is liitle point in using a high quality image for the web. Save your pic as a low quality JPEG before posting the pic to your web space. Up loads will be much faster and little of the pic is lost.
