hi,
I would recommend a trip to Germany, hire a car and go round the dealers.
Loads cheaper if you dont mind a left hooker and most are fully winterised.

You are describing an RV .. Wink

For fulltiming you don't need a large payload ... you need a huge one!
IMO There isn't a euro van that is suitable for fulltiming, unless you can afford a bespoke truck conversion..

RVs come fully loaded, large grey, black and fresh water tanks, you don't want the hassle of a porta potti the rest of your life..
You want a proper toilet, full size shower and bathroom with space to swing a cat.. proper double bed, not a rubiks cube every night.
Enough hot water that can give you a decent shower without arguments.
Full size fridge and freezer, mico, etc etc..

It doesn't need to be the size of ours, we are a family of four, C class RVs start from about 24ft A class from around 28ft

good luck with your search.. if you need any other info pleasea ask, there are several fulltimers on here !

Hi ScotJim

We've looked at some smaller RV's(24ft). How do you deal with the black water waste on CL sites? Most don't have an MV waste point available!! Is it a case of using the bucket? Or do you only use larger commercial type sites which have dumping facilities?

Cheers

Hi ScotJimLand

Id be careful if I were you about advising people to "Buy An RV". Shocked Ive suggested it to many folks on here and ended up getting slated for it. Embarassed

Much better to keep quite and "fall into line" with the vast majority of Eurovan owners and harp on about the joys of running an underpowered, overloaded, impractical vehicle Very Happy . If your not careful you will end up with a thread dedicated to slagging off your opinions and advice and welcoming questions from other m/h owners about how an RV Shocked it totally unsuitable for use in the UK and how they should all be sent back to the USA in a big boat. Very Happy

My recommendation is to buy a Eurobuilt Very Happy motorhome (preferably brand new then you can spend 6-12 months getting all the problems and poor workmanship fixed). You can then spend another £3-4000ish getting the engine remapped so it will actually go up hills Very Happy and the suspension beefed up Very Happy to carry that extra 5lb bag of spuds. Then after youve lived in it for another 6 weeks with all the repairs and modifications done you can decide that it simply isnt up to the job and look for something "A LITTLE MORE SUITABLE" Surprised

Well there we are then Scotjimland, dont say you werent warned about it

Oh and Cneate good luck with your choice of vehicle but whatever you do dont even consider thinking about buying anything other than a Eurobuilt M/H Very Happy . You know it makes sense. Shocked Rolling Eyes

Two options, pump it with a macerator. .up to about 50ft.. some folks say they get up to 90ft.. I've not tested it over that distance.

or

A Tote n Store.. basically a large waste hog similar to what caravaners use, only larger, mine is 25gal, it connects directly to the waste outlet via a 3in hose.

Did I say I pulled it ? Laughing

That's what a 17year old lad is for Wink
Seriously.. yes it is heavy but you don't need to fill it .. and it comes with a tow hitch, if you have a car to pull it Wink
