Advice please...Just bought a Hymer 660 which is in Germany. Will be collecting next week. The Length is 7050mtrs. What is the best ferry to use on the return journey. They all seem to show max of 7 mtrs or just give you the option of campervan which it plainly isn't? Any advice please. The clock is running!!!

Our mh is 7.25m and I've never noticed a maximum of 7.0m.
We usually travel Dover/Calais and P&O.
They probably have the most sailings and we find them flexible when we usually don't return on the booked date.

Hi newsbits

Sea France or Norfolkline certainly don't have a maximum length, ours is over 8 metres and we use both. We normally check to see which carrier service is cheapest and normally end up with one or other of the two mentioned. Advantage of the Norfolkline is that they don't take foot passengers or coach parties, down side is a 2 hour crossing time. Sea France is usually cheaper and only 75 mins crossing, down side is they do take foot passengers and coach parties.

Don't worry what you call your vehicle there is a on going debate as to what they should be called, Camper, Motorhome, Motorcaravan, etc etc.

John.

So far so good. I'll have another look. Did I really mean 7050mtrs!
Think not. That'll be 7.050 mtrs of course. Just a thought. Will I be risking it too much if I turn up and wait for a slot or better to book a crossing before I set off? Thanks again. All useful info.egards, Phil

No 7.5 mtrs is what I assumed you meant.

I wouldn't try to book in advance. It isn't worth the sweat of wondering whether you are going to get to the port to catch a particular ferry. Book on arrival. Plenty of room at this time of the year.
