Right we have sorted the fitting with Johns Cross M/H but now we are wondering if the 4m is the right choice do we need it that big?
From experience we know they can & do behave somewhat sail like in the lightest of wind but the perfectionist in me thinks if we get a smaller one fitted it might not look quite right on the side of the van se pics for explaination. Wink

In reality all we really want is to cover the Hab. door in the event of light ish showes and give shelter if drizzle is falling on warm sticky weather. Embarassed

Not forgetting that if the summer does ever arrive Razz it can also I beleive be used to provide a nice cool shaded area for us and our hound. Wink

What do you lot think?? Am I giving this too much thought??

Split the difference and go for a 3.5 metre one. We find our 3.5 omnistor is big enough for the purpose, but small enough to manage.

If you have got the pounds sterling and the pounds payload I would say go for the biggest awning. Much better for rain and for shade.

I think your van looks much better with the 4m one and it will also ensure shade should you need it in the bedroom area.

Nice looking van!

4M without doubt.

Above 4 and the price rockets but 4 vursus the rest not so bad.
We have the 4M one and find it superb, fitted it ourselves very easily (well with 4 bodies for the actual hanging Laughing )

Re wind issue we simply don't use or retract if the wind is up but equally getting the storm tie down kit (or whatever it's called) makes sence, if memory serves they are around Ģ12 from the likes of Gocamping. Also, I fitted the on van recievers for the legs and tend to use these exclusivly (lazy or what?) so if the wind is up the whole lot, van and awning, can move a little and there are the shock absorbers built into the unit.

Thanks for the replies guys I guess I should have done it on a poll basis (iIf I were clever enough) any mods want to add one for a laugh??

Rob a tugger again eh? you will not be looked down upon for joining the dark side Wink Razz

As far as cash goes there is only a slight difference between the 3 of them and payload about 6 KGS if nmy memory serves.

Suzy what are you insinuating?? thanks for the compliment on the van.

Cheers 4 M me thinks that is where my heart was in the begining.
