Hi I have a Autoquest elddis 115 on an 07 plate and have been told I can leave it on charge 24/7 all over the winter while we are not using it will this harm the batteries or cause any damage cheers Steve Embarassed

Modern multi-stage chargers are fine. If you want even further peace of mind measure the voltage at the battery once fully charged but with charger still on. If 13.5V to 13.8V relax.

06 Hymer with Electroblock charging system. I leave this on 24/7. No problems so far. That's what the system is designed to do.

I just don't understand this worry about batteries being continually trickle charged. In my work it is done all the time with communications system batteries trickle charged at 13.8v. The batteries are not special, equivalent in most respects to a leisure battery and last for many years.

I also have had no problems, Eldiss Autoquest 400 /05.
Also keep a thermostatic heater really low in the van during the Winter months, I also use my van in the Winter, keeps it nice and cosy!

Thanks for the quick responses i can now get some sleep without the worry but when its your first motorhome and it cost so much money there are lots of silly little things that are not explained (in plain English) in the handbook thanks again Steve Confused
