Cor, I had a busy day at Tesco.

I rolled in with eight black bags full of tin cans and as such was at the marvellous machine for ages. The machine will only allow one item at a time, and the machine kept telling me off. Whilst I was there, an elderly chap on a push bike kept coming and going. He told me he cycles all day, collecting tin cans for the machine.

In store, a particular brand of wine costs £5.99 per bottle. Buy 6 for £26.95 - ie 25% off. Take a £10 Clubcard voucher to the customer service desk and it is worth £20 on wine. So six bottles of red/white/rose for £6.95. Oh, and and extra 150 Clubcard points on each bottle. There were none in stcok at Ashby, but I went to Nottingham to call at Lowdhams, thus ending up at Tesco with the marvellous machine. They also had wine in abundance.

MV Oriana, world cruise here we come.

I had better get my skates on as Dolly Parton et al are calling.

Russell

Morning Viv, Kev and those to follow.

Trying to rain here. Never mind, last week of work before the holidays, yippee!

Viv - I'm glad it seems to be going well for Sarah and you sound as if you've been busy whilst she's away.

Kev - sorry to hear about your fall. The trouble with rib injuries is there isn't a lot that can be done for them, just rest, which is impossible when you're in pain, can't roll over and can't sleep Shocked

Have a good day everyone.

Sue

Good morning all

We are home at last! If you remember we were home a couple of weeks ago for a couple of days, but that did not count because we were going out again. Anyway, we are here now until the middle of August.

We had a bit of "excitement" on our journey home. Without going into too much detail and boring you, we have had trouble with the gas conversion that was done on our RV for the past 2 years. It stopped working completely at Newbury a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, we were at a dog show in Blackpool a couple of weeks back and decided to go to Pwlleli in North Wales to the distributors of our system, who had said that they would look at it for us. We arrived on the Monday morning with our 9 dogs. Luckily we had all our pens with us as they wanted all the dogs out. Again luckily, they had a shaded area under trees next to the workshop because that was where we stayed during the day for the next 3 days!!!!! Each evening we loaded everything back into the RV and we stayed at a place called Abererch Sands Caravan Park. So on Wednesday evening we set off for home after receiving a £1200.00 bill!!!!! I am pleased to say it is now fixed. I am not able to say too much now for legal reasons, but basically the original installer had not fitted the system correctly. What a pleasure it was to drive over Snowdonia without a hitch. Well sort of anyway - I was the hitch. I did not navigate too well, and we ended up on a very narrow B road with a bridge that is 9'11" high and we are 12" high. We are also 35' long, so, Norman had to very carefully turn our rig around and head back down the very steep narrow incline. You can imagine the atmosphere! Embarassed But we made it without a hitch. We stopped at Shrewsbury for the night at a fabulous little C and CC site at Ebury Hill. Has anyone every stopped there?

Our daughter is getting married in 3 weeks time so a lot has to be achieved before then. Making the outside of our house look like a garden for one. The weeds have grown up so high since we have been away. We also had a major leak from our upstairs shower. Norman has now managed to fix that and today we will be painting the ceiling in the lounge to get rid of the water stains. Anyway, I have rambled on for too long. I will play catch up and read all the posts over the next couple of mornings. It is really great to be back on this forum again. I have missed everyone.

Kev Sorry to hear about your back. Hope you are pain free very soon.

Gerald What a terrible time for you guys. I hope everything turns out ok for you now. I am sure that it is great to have your front garden back again.

Jock Norman and I love airshows too. Maybe we can get together in July and go to Fairford.

Time to go about my business. Hope you all have a great day.

Sharon

A weekend of good food, wine and hours and hours of tennis.

Its like the Gobi desert out there - Viv's rain didn't get this far.

BG annual service this morning - I asked for an 0800 - 1300 slot so he'll probably turn up about 1240 having had us hanging around from 0800.

Russell: I didn't realise the 'double your vouchers value scheme" applied to wine - better dig out the vouchers now.

Gerald: What can I say - hope you can turn it round.

Jock: I've read your thread over the weekend - CAA means Campaign Against Aviation Very Happy Very Happy

Sue; You didn't say how your MH hunting went. ??

Mavis -Did your dongle work OK. ??

Keep busy - 6 days to our 'Grand Depart'

Harry

Good morning Viv, Kev, Russell, Catz, Harry, and those to follow.

We left the Rally site yesterday after the French Aerobatic team did their stint at luchtime, in their Alpha Jets. Very impressive indeed, but not as good as our Red Arrows.

It rained here yesterday afternoon, whilst I was washing the MH, but nothing since, and today sees a beautiful sunny morning.

Viv, hope all goes well at the "Open", and glad to hear that Sarah seems to be enjoying herself.

Kev, take it easy there. Wink

Russell, I would have been well peed off, if queued behind you at the recycling machine. Laughing

In between jobs this morning, I have to get two new tyres fitted on the Pug runaround. Sad

TTFN,

Jock.

Harry, it is that bad that the Vulcan can't leave Waddington until this bl##dy certificate is issued, as it is not just for flying at public displays. Numpties. Evil or Very Mad

Sorry Sharon, I didn't see you post. Nice to see you back with us again. Smile

I normally do Fairford, with the Gloucs Center of the CC, but you have to book early in the year to get on the rally.

This year we did RAF Waddington as we knew that we wouldn't get to Fairford. Next year "could" be a strong possibility though.

Glad to hear that the LPG conversion is finally working sweetly.
Narrow lanes and low bridges? I can't imagine Norman taking them in anything other than "in his stride." As for "atmosphere", you should have blamed that on the dogs. Laughing Laughing Laughing

MAVIS, my dongle wouldn't work at all, so I had to revert to old technology, (a couple of baked bean tins and a piece of string). Glad to hear that your weekend went well too.

Cheers for now,

Jock.
