I insured with Sureterm this year. 3 weeks ago took delivery of brand new van. Phoned Sureterm to change vehicle details etc........as van cost £45000 was informed that tracking device required. Informed them that a Phantom was to booked to be fitted 7 days later.....they informed me that van would not be covered for theft until it was fitted !!!!!! Phoned around and Safeguard and caravanguard both gave 14 days for a tracker to be fitted. Phoned Sureterm to cancel and had to pay 75% cancellation fee plus many extras.... offered £18 rebate off £500+ premium for policy that only started in march. WOULD NOT TOUCH WITH A BARGE POLE.

I have posted previously about Sureterm.

We spoke to them at length at the Stratford Show about fulltiming insurance. Absolutely no problem they said. " No problem that's good. " I said and went on to explain exactly what I wanted. No problem they said.

So they rang me a few days later

I said," I want insurance to go fulltiming. "

Oh we can't do that they said.

So my guess is that they are a bunch of idiots.

Try the Co-op. The premium for my 97 Hymer 534 to Jan 2008 was £204.90 which includes Road Recue Plus ie. 12 months full UK and European Breakdown Cover.

A good insurance is not just to do with the price its what they cover and how they perform in a claim. Take overseas breakdown the AA insurance came in cheaper than CC or C&CC but as well as individual limits in each category of the claim the overall claim was capped. They wouldn't recover from anything other than a road or hardstanding. There was from memory 9 pages of small print most of it limiting your claims which my wife went over word for word then used it to check that there were no such clauses with CC or C&CC.

Ohhhhhhhhhh.... my poor head is ready to explode I'm getting confused with all this about insurance ! I'm currently insured for my motorhome with CIS (CO-OP) as I transfered insurance over from my Van which I used for business and the policy does not give contents cover which I had to take out on my house contents policy... however the policy is due for renewal next month and it is my intention to shop around for a all in one motorhome cover package as soon as I get my renewal notice from CIS.

I am not a very keen reader of the small print jargon which gives me an even bigger headache trying to understand...Something is telling me that Frank could be the one to advise me which policy to go for !. help
