I am having a nervous breakdown here Rolling Eyes
I have been trying to use the internet all morning and I can get to google, find a site get into the site then when I try to use the site it displays cannot find server, there is only this site that I can use (I hope). I have been going demented Evil or Very Mad . I have spoken to the technical team at BT and they say its my router/modem so I have ordered a new on which wont arrive till the 16th, I will have to hope that I can still use this site till then or I will deffo be put in a straight jacket Laughing We just cant understand it as the wireless signal is perfect, Andrew has been down loading on his computer all morning with no problems, its just the surfing thats the problem Confused Confused , oh well I will just have to hope that the new router solves the problem Rolling Eyes

You're lucky you could at least get on here. I couldn't for about 5 minutes I just got a message saying that the SQL server was down or something like that! Smile

I could surf everywhere else just not this site! Strange! Smile

Anyway, it appears to be ok now so I'm free to surf to my hearts content! Hope you get your problem sorted out soon! Smile

Hi, Anne

Which site was it? Are there large graphics or animations on it? If Andrew has been downloading all morning, maybe he's been using all of your bandwidth, and you haven't been able to 'get through' to the site you want. Or maybe the actual site you're trying to get to is down? Is it just one particular site? You say you can get to Google. Try some other sites, like the BBC (www.bbc.co.uk).

I can't see how it can be your router, TBH.

Gerald

Hi Gerald thanks, Tried the BBC site and that worked, ordered some goods off internet, but I cant get into my email, tried loads of sites but still the same, never had a problem before, got onto ebay ok then when I tried to search for something it came up server not found, very strange. We had the same problems a while back and everything eventually righted itself.
We tried that many sites, too many to have the same problem, as we have a router and a seperate wireless thingy we decided to get an all in one so it doesnt take up as much space, getting one from BT free with upgrade. They said it was my router etc as I have had it a long time. We will wait and see
Anne

Confused
Hi there, I know this is of no help to you at all, but sometimes a trouble shared etc.

I have been waiting for a broadband connection, with wireless thingy, since April from the Italian Fastweb company. About 3 weeks ago they came and fiddled with some wires, and then discovered that their system wouldn't work where I live. Said I would have to wait at least another 2 months, so scrapped their contract on being told by another provider (TIM - Italian equivalent of BT) that they could connect me straight away. Told this morning that my line had been active since August 1st. so together with son no. 3 spent all morning trying to connect, only to be told at lunchtime that they had made a mistake, and would have to wait until August 17th. at the earliest. In the meantime am still connected - intermittenly and at wildly variable connection speeds - via a Samsung mobile phone connected to the laptop USB.
At least this evening MHF seems to be coming through reasonably fast.
Some days it does and some days it don't.
Ah the joys of technology (that's why I'm basically a technophobe)
saluti,
eddied
