Right Nobby - sounds the real macoy - superior even to my Home Base washing line idea. Looks to me that my present dish is a tad to small to be any use abroad so I shalll look out for another.

Thanks for your help Nobs

Pusser
mine came from a co up in necastle but if do what i did and type sat dish in google or similar i am sure you will find a cheapo.
Incdentally I dont bother with skew angles and such like and the easy way i found to find the sat i want (sky) is to point the dish east and slowly come to the south and if u have the right elevation it will be the first sat u come to using a sat strength meter.

If you try SWM in your search engine it will/should give u a steer to a swedish company which has freebie proggy to download and that will give sat elevation/azimuth and a load more data just by giving your location in lat/long and telling it what sat u want..

I've had it even more with Sky. Wife cancelled the DD yesterday and she phoned up to cancel our subscription which we have had I think for nearly seven years.

She was told that she cannot cancel until the 31 days notice is paid for. 31 days notice to do what?

So she said she would send a cheque off that would pay for the 31 days but then was told she needed to add another £4 because she was not paying by direct debit having just cancelled it.

She then said she wanted to add on another £4 for a film we had watched last week and it had not come up on there displays yet. So she was told that the 31 days notice cannot start until the film has been paid for and we can't pay for the film until it comes up on their screen.

So to recap. I am finishing with Sky because we consistently have several channels missing which we are paying for and I have spent a small fortune on their help line, always doing the same thing and always ending up back where we started the next day.

So because we have caused them so much inconvenince cancelling we have to pay for an extra 31 days which can only start once we can pay for the film we watched last week. And...to add an extra £4 ultimately as we are sending in the payment by cheque and not DD.

Oh Murducky - I would so like to meet you at this present moment.

For anyone that`s interested, on ebay under `sky dish` you will find cheshire digital solutions auctioning 60cm dish+tripod+10m of cable. Depending how lucky you are with the bid or how much you are prepared to pay it is a really good kit. I got mine for £36+ delivery. the tripod is the omnisat one (about £35 ) and the dish a triax (a standard house type) with thomson lnb. Happy bidding, Gordon
