My TomTom One keeps falling off my windscreen. I'm using the standard suction thing that came with it, attached to the top of the screen near the mirror, and every so often it falls off. It's a long way to fall, made worse by the fact that Charlie's water dish is on the floor almost below it, and it landed in it once. This morning when I woke up it was on the floor, and it has a nasty habit of doing it just I'm getting to a critical place when travelling.
Do I just need to clean the windscreen better, or is this a problem other people have?

I always position mine near the bottom of the windscreen and rest the satnav on the dash before tightening up the mount suction cup and screws. This way most of the weight is supported by the dash and holds the unit firmly and vibration free.

If you are tightening the unit onto the cup a problem should not exist. However, i think a number of early models did have a problem. visit the tom tom site send a message and lo and behold they might just send you a new mount. I asked for a new charger cable as the first was loose and they sent me the cable and a new vehicle mount in case that was at fault. very useful for using in car.

maybe I'm stating the obvious, but once you've placed the suction cup mount on the windscreen, have you twisted it round clockwise a quarter turn to lock it?

I wonder if you have moved it since you first applied the suction cup. It may be that the suction is not as good as at first. Also, I mounted mine close to the dash as it's easier, imho, to view there. I would move it again, nearer the dash - of course, do contact TT and try and get a new mount.

Not sure if suction holder thingy on Tom tom one is same as Tom Tom 910
But when tightening the suction cup on the screen you have to turn the tightening knob to first click and then turn it a further quarter of turn until you feel a second discernible click
It you are already doin that and its not working then perhaps the unit is faulty.

This may be a stupid question but do you turn the locking nut through two clicks?
When I first got my 910 I only turned it to the first click and the unit kept drooping while driving.
When I had a good look at the mounting unit I discovered that you go to the first click and this allows you to position the tomtom for good viewing and then turn the locking unit about a further 10 degrees to another click where it is solid and cannot be moved.
As others have suggested the initial brackets had a design flaw that meant they fell of and drooped in use, if you phone tomtom support they will replace the faulty units FOC.
