Just received this email from the hosting company ref server slowdown this morning:-

Dear Customer,

As you may have noticed the Maidenhead Network slowed down this morning.
We can confirm that full service has now been restored.

The cause of this slow performance was down to our new 'NetEnforcer' hardware which actively monitors inbound and outbound traffic for abnormalities and blocks traffic when it thinks a server is likely to be compromised. It appears this hardware developed a fault earlier on this morning which caused it to throttle our bandwidth to a low speed. This device has now been removed from the network and we will be in contact with the manufactures shortly to find out exactly why this happened.

If you continue to encounter problems accessing your server please let us know and we can arrange for it to be looked at.

I was just about to change the oil on my computer to see if it would speed-up !!! Very Happy
