I am arranging my first ever visit to the NEC and a Motorhome show for next Tuesday which is the only day I can manage. I wonder if there might be anything different about the first day that I ought to be aware of in advance. Any tips for a complete show newbie?
Thanks in advance - Paul

We have been on the first day at the Feb show but not this one.

If you haven't bought your tickets already there will be queues at the ticket office.

Usually the show is opened by someone so there might be crowds at the entrance if you want to avoid this arrive about 15-30 mins after openning time.

It is also the Caravan Clubs day when they have special things on i believe.

other than that enjoy.

Hi

Went to the NEC show on the first and second day last year with free tickets both days. We arrived at opening time and the only delay was the ticket collectors hadn't got their act together. My daughter passed the tickets over and said we had a meeting with the Adria directors [we had honest Wink regarding her faulty caravan].

Must admit it was the first time I had been to the show at the NEC and thought it was easy to get around. Going again next week and considering Tuesday and Wednesday. Look out for my MHF badge Smile will you be wearing yours? Wink

Joyce

Going on Tuesday 'cos there's a discount for OAPs, sorry, Senior Citizens. You'll know where I am by the clatter of my Zimmer frame as I try to get into the €1,000,000 N&B on the Brownhills stand without knocking too much paint off the entrance door...

For those who have attended this show can you comment on how good or not it is?

Went last year and was disappointed that there were no foreign travel sections and not much on the accessory side.

There were a few overseas travel representatives and slightly more accessory stands. I found this disappointing but I suspect the 'pitch' charge prevents some of the smaller traders from attending.

Visited Wednesday, parked on E1 car park having taken 2 hours to get there ( not bad for 50 miles). Got the frying pan out kettle on and had breakfast. Got into the show at 1030 with won tickets. So the Wife went and spent £28 on hair bits. Rolling Eyes
Brownhills seemed to have some big money savers on new vehicles. Had a look at the new Autocruise/Swift star some 'at anyway the same model as my Renoir. Only difference i could see is they have taken up a good portion of the Wardrobe to allow the Tele to have an inset. Oh and moved the drinks cabinet. Obviously you get the new outside shower but I haven't figured how you stand on the engine to use it. Very Happy Anyway had lunch and left at 2pm having bought two extendable brushes for a fiver. Oh and don't go and buy any of the Med food in the plastic containers it is a rip off but they will offer you a taste. Then took 3 hours to do the 50 miles again. Evil or Very Mad
