OK, so first up, I will not be going to the show this year, basically as having just returned from Dusseldorf and ordered, I don't need to...

BUT

My post is this:

I don't mind paying to park there (would prefer not to) but OK £5 a night would be acceptable....but WHY £20...

I do not want entertainment etc., and can honestly last easily for 3 or 4 days without water etc., a dump is very useful, but it does not warrant that sort of money.

We are all being taken for a ride..... why do you pay it? Even a site is cheaper at that time of year.

Carol

Carol
sorry what parking are you referring to I can only find posts where people have simply stopped on the car park. More information needed to vote thanks.

The CC club have a temp site at the NEC and they are charging £20 a night. What makes it worse it is fully booked!

As said this is far to much.

Richard...

Only a personal view perhaps the Caravan Club are governed by what they are being charged for the hire of the area. I would have been prepared to pay £20 for those facilities instead of having to set of 4 hours before on the day just to get through the traffic. I look at £20 being the cost of making my day out extended and free from the traffic stress. Throw in Electric and entertainment and a Restaurant and even better. Again a personal view but the Pole is slanted towards complaints and needs a positive one as well ie You would be prepared to pay, as the only positive one is I need entertainment but I don't i can take it or leave it but would still be prepared to pay.

A complete rip-off - £20 to park on sloping infrequently used car park near the end of the airport runway & trains running all night as well Sad And if parking is free anyway for day visitors, why should the CC be charged anything by the NEC, because that is what they get from the car parks. Shocked The CC are providing marhsalling, electric & so called entertainments; NEc provides a bit of tarmac, toilets and lighting.

Why would it be so difficult to provide MH overnight parking for a small fee? Even with no hook up or water / dump would be a good facility for say £5. If they can do it in Dusseldorf why not here?

I think that's a great idea, Mike.

Obviously, the CC / C&CC provided parking is popular - it's always fully-booked several weeks beforehand. I'm sure if visitors thought they could park secruely for very little money, they would be encouraged to stay for longer, which should boost business for the exhibitors.

Sorry Grumpman, why is it clear to one person and not another lol - I will have a look at the question but I don't think I can alter that...

What I mean is this

I would prefer to stay OFFICIALLY on the car park at the NEC without cost, or a maximum of £5 a night .......and hence the question, do others think that £20 is too much...a sort of normal rip off Britain... well I think so..

I don't want or need entertainment which is pushing up the price. I am a member of both CC and CCC and they used to be run for the members, but unfortunately now they are far too much a business and they don't listen to members...or I don't think they do.

Sorry not to reply earlier, been out all day.

Carol

Has that made the Poll clearer please?

Hi Carol

Has that made the Poll clearer please

I think it might be worth having an option to vote that you are happy to pay £20 and it is worth it, so the poll can be seen as being balanced.

I stayed at the CCC site at The NEC on the final day of a show just before Focus this year. It is heavily marshalled and they have lots of those big generators to supply hook up so it is not just a case of parking on the car park.

The other thing to bear in mind is that it is the NEC where you pay a fiver for a 99p sandwich and as the site is full then they are going to put up their prices, its basic business practise these days, sadly.
