Just returned from the NEC (excellent show by the way, well worth a visit). Arriving at 10.00am and leaving at 4.30pm, I was prepared to meet and greet other forum members and printed out my membership card on nice shiny glossy card in a suitable size 80mm x 50mm and hung it round my neck in the usual exhibition style.

How many members did we meet, how many people commented on this bright yellow badge dangling in my cleavage? I can tell the answer in both cases was nil, zippo, nul. none. I even visited three magazine stands and had no response.

I conclude that
1. People have other things to worry about and are too busy to notice MHF badges, or
2. They didn't like the look of the bloke in red shirt pushing that woman in a wheelchair or,
3. It was all a conspiracy to make some idiot wear a stupid badge and laugh at him behind his back.

Should we have a poll on this do you reckon? Or perhaps my reputation had gone before me and my picture had been circulated with "avoid this man" printed at the bottom.

As a newbie I would have loved to siphon off some of the expertise that abounds in this place. Maybe next time.

Cheers

Tco

Tco I am sure it was none of those things.

I expect that everyone is busy doing whatever they were going for, it does seem like a good idea when you are home here writing, but sometimes especially if you are only going for a day, time flies by and meeting up is not something so high on your list.

Best place to pick brains I suspect is a rally or meet.

Carol

Going on Friday... just for the day driving up from North Devon.

There are plenty of people selling bits and pieces intent on separating you from your money
