I have begun negotiations with Caravan Guard Insurance which looks promising this is their reply today and I await further contact.I have suggested 5% discount to members
Good afternoon Mr **********
Yes I do remember you and thank you for referring other people to Caravan Guard.
I have forwarded your email through to our marketing department and I will come back to you once they have made a decision.
Unfortunately (or fortunately for me) I am on holiday from Friday and the marketing team are currently at the NEC. I will come back to you once I return from my holiday.
Well, you did better than I did. When I rang for a quote on our new van, Caravan Guard wouldn't quote on it as it was German sourced. Having been with them for three years. this was a it of a shock, so we have gone to Safeguard instead.

Have been to the NEC today spoke to sales from Caravan Guard the person i spoke to new nothing of this forum and a discount but that does not mean I doubt you. Can you let me know where it is documented for when she comes back to me as I cannot find anything but that also means nothing.
Below is the reply from Caravan Guard 5% discount, to be reviewed February 2008. Nuke for your attention.
Hi David,
I have negotiated with our underwriter who are prepared to give a 5% discount for a trial period, this will end 29th February 2008. The website must state the discount is available on quotes given up to that date, we will freeze the quote until the customers renewal providing their circumstances remain the same. If the trial goes well, I'm sure I will be able to secure this level discount going forward. I'll make a diary note to contact you towards the end of February.
As I explained at the NEC, is is not the % discount that counts, there are several factors that determine the premium. Even though our club member discount is not as generous as others our quotations may be more competitive. The customer also needs to consider the level of cover provided.
