| The Fiamma Duo-Safe looks exactly what you are looking for here. It is available from multiple outlets and I got mine at about £25. My motorhome is Transit-based and it fits perfectly, but the device is adjustable and the marketing bumf definitely claims that it will work on a Ducato. Of course, if someone is prepared to smash the window in order to get in, then this will not help you. They could then simply lift the end of the bar away from the door and get in. But my assumption is that we will have heard what is going on by that time! |

That is, of course assuming you are either in the van or nearby at the time.

Don't worry too much. One of the benefits of the new cab is that provide you have deadlocked the doors (Press the button twice) they cannot be opened from inside. There is no unlock button inside the door and the unlock button on the dash will not operate if you have used the remote.
If you are still uncertain, B&Q do a set of 1m cable locks (3 locks) for about 11.99. Just join them together.
Fact is that less than 1 in 10,000 have a problem. |

Gerry, you are a star! We did not realise the cab doors could be deadlocked as you described and what you have told us has really solved our problem. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Well done Gerry the X250 chassis is much improved security wise and if you get a good alarm Sue It can be linked in to all the doors without the internal movement sensors live when you are in the van.
Sadly simplest way in to the van tends to be a centre punch on a side window if unoccupied.

Hi Ed,
Yes, we got Transleisure to fit alarms to all the doors and lockers recently and with the sensor that you could switch off whilst in residence! So from that point of view we are well covered, it was mainly just the cab area we were concerned about as we felt that was our weak spot in our security levels. But thanks to Gerry's post we now have that sorted and it looks like it is a lot more secure than we realised. However, thanks for your advice Ed, we really do appreciate it.

Many thanks Sany. This question was on hundreds of members lips so someone had to ask. |
